Under the government’s Clean Sri Lanka programme, the marriages of 14 couples who had been living together without formal registration were officially legalized, and marriage certificates were issued to them.
The registrations took place during a special mobile service conducted at the Ottosudan Divisional Secretariat in the Jaffna District.
In addition, 73 birth and death certificates were also issued during the programme.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader effort to improve public access to civil registration services nationwide.
