The 2024 (2025) G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) examination commences today (17) at 3,663 examination centers across the country, with 474,147 candidates expected to sit for the exam.

Among the applicants, 398,182 are school candidates, while 75,965 are private candidates.

Commissioner General of Examinations, Amith Jayasundara, has urged candidates to arrive early at their respective examination centers, bringing their admission cards and valid identity documents.

“Candidates must have their admission card and ID card for every paper they sit for. The admission card will be collected on the first day and will not be returned. Only pens and pencils are allowed in the exam hall, while personal belongings should be kept to a minimum. If necessary, candidates may bring a bottle of water,” he emphasized.
