2025 Grade 5 Scholarship Exam: Shanudi Amaya and A. Lakshayan Top Sinhala and Tamil Media

According to the results of the 2025 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, the highest-scoring student in the Sinhala medium is Shanudi Amaya of Sri Devananda College, Ambalangoda in the Galle district, who obtained 198 marks, Commissioner General of Examinations A.K.S. Indika Kumari announced today (04).

In the Tamil medium, A. Lakshayan of Jaffna Hindu Primary School secured the highest score with 194 marks.

Speaking at a special media briefing, the Commissioner General said that 51,969 students (17.11%) achieved above the cut-off marks—140 for Sinhala medium and 134 for Tamil medium.

The results were released online last night (03) and are available on the Department of Examinations’ official website: www.doenets.lk.

This year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination was held on 10 August at 2,787 centres islandwide, with 307,951 candidates sitting for the exam. Among them were 901 students with special needs, including 12 candidates who used Braille scripts.
