Police have arrested 27 individuals, including members of the Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF), for violating a court order by holding a protest march, Ada Derana reports.
The demonstration, organized by the Allied Health Sciences Students’ Union, took place in front of the Ministry of Health yesterday (27). Despite an ongoing discussion between eight representatives and the Health Ministry Secretary, the protest continued after talks failed.
Authorities stated that the protesters defied a court order prohibiting demonstrations that could cause public inconvenience, leading to the arrests.
