Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa says that 2,867 new nursing appointments will be granted by October this year as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s healthcare workforce.

The Minister made the announcement while attending a ceremony in Colombo to award appointments to 515 Bachelor of Science (Nursing) graduates.

The latest appointments are expected to strengthen staffing levels across hospitals and healthcare institutions while creating additional employment opportunities for qualified nursing professionals.

The move comes amid ongoing efforts by the Health Ministry to address workforce shortages and improve the efficiency of public healthcare services across the country.
