The Kandy Municipal Council has announced that water supply to several areas within the Kandy city limits will be suspended for 36 hours, starting at 2:00 PM today and continuing until 2:00 AM the day after tomorrow.

The disruption is due to a pipeline system failure that occurred during ongoing construction work at the Kandy Goods Shed Bus Stand.

Accordingly, the water supply will be suspended in the area stretching from Peradeniya Road, William Gopallawa Mawatha, and the Court Complex area up to Town Hall Junction.

In addition, the following areas will also experience a complete water outage during this period:

  • Asgiriya

  • Lake Round

  • Rajapihilla Mawatha

  • Buwelikada

  • Thennekumbura

  • Gurudeniya

  • Ampitiya

  • All streets within the Kandy city limits

The Kandy Municipal Council has urged all residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and make appropriate arrangements to manage during the water cut.
