A total of 41 clinics are currently operating across Sri Lanka under the National STD/AIDS Control Programme Sri Lanka, Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament of Sri Lanka today (05).
The Minister made this disclosure while responding to a question raised by Parliamentarian S. M. Marikkar.
Minister Jayatissa said that 4,771 HIV/AIDS patients, 1,469 syphilis patients, and 2,891 herpes patients are currently receiving treatment through these clinics nationwide.
He also noted that 36,421 HIV prevention pills are presently in stock, which is sufficient to meet national requirements for approximately the next four months.
