The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) says 630 complaints related to bribery and corruption were received during the first month of 2026 alone.
According to the Commission, 11 individuals were arrested in January in connection with bribery offences. Among those arrested were three political representatives.
The Commission further stated that legal action was initiated against seven public officials during the same month over bribery and corruption-related allegations.
Meanwhile, court proceedings related to these cases resulted in state revenue amounting to Rs. 437,420, the Commission added.
