Chinese Naval Attaché Meets Sri Lankan Navy Commander to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The newly appointed Naval Attaché at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, Senior Captain ZHENG Zhaoping, met with the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, at the Navy Headquarters on December 10, 2024.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and included discussions on key matters of mutual importance. The cordial exchange concluded with the symbolic gesture of memento exchanges, reflecting goodwill and ongoing cooperation between the two nations.

Key officials in attendance included Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, Director General Health Services; Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage, Director General Operations; Commodore Aruna Weerasinghe, Director Naval Operations; and Senior Colonel Zhou Bo, Defence Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka.

This engagement highlights the continued collaboration between Sri Lanka and China in fostering maritime cooperation and enhancing bilateral ties.
