The Department of Meteorology has announced that the low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal is expected to move west-northwestwards slowly toward the Tamil Nadu coast, near Northern Sri Lanka, within the next 24 hours.

- Expected at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, North-Western, and Western provinces.
- Fairly heavy showers (about 75mm) are likely in some areas of the Northern Province.
- Evening or night showers are possible in other areas.
- Misty Conditions:
- Anticipated during the morning in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces.

Residents are advised to take precautions against potential damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
