Sri Lanka Welcomes 70,000 Tourists in First 10 Days of December

Sri Lanka has recorded the arrival of 70,000 tourists within the first 10 days of December, according to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Chairman Buddhika Parakramasinghe.

Parakramasinghe further stated that the country is on track to welcome approximately 200,000 tourists by the end of December.

The highest number of arrivals have been from India, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

So far this year, 1.9 million tourists have visited Sri Lanka. The SLTDA expects this number to reach 2.2 million by the close of 2024, reflecting a steady recovery in the tourism sector.
