Sri Lanka Records Further Drop in Inflation Rate to -1.7% in November 2024

Sri Lanka’s overall inflation rate, measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), declined to -1.7% in November 2024, down from -0.7% recorded in October 2024, according to the latest figures released by the Department of Census and Statistics.

The NCPI for all items stood at 202.4 index points in November 2024, showing a slight decrease compared to October.

Year-on-Year inflation for the food group fell to 0.0% in November from 1.3% in October 2024. Similarly, Year-on-Year inflation for the non-food group dropped to -3.1% in November, compared to -2.3% in the previous month.
