Cabinet Spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa emphasized that the government is committed to fighting the underworld and drug trafficking, but not through frequent operations for show.
In a weekly briefing to announce Cabinet decisions, Minister Jayatissa confirmed that steps have already been taken to suppress criminal activities, with visible results expected in the future.
“All security forces are working systematically to curb the underworld and drug trafficking. Preliminary measures have been implemented as part of the program,” he said.
While refraining from disclosing specific actions being taken, the Minister emphasized the importance of focusing on the outcome. “The key point is the results. For now, we can only say that the relevant measures are underway. Let’s wait and see the results in the future,” he added.
