NMRA Suspends Licenses of 60 Pharmacies Over Compliance Issues

The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has temporarily suspended the licenses of 60 pharmacies over the last five months due to non-compliance with regulatory standards.

Dr. Saveen Semage, CEO of the NMRA, stated that the affected pharmacies were operating without the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, which is a mandatory requirement.

He further emphasized that the NMRA is committed to ensuring that all pharmacies meet the necessary standards before issuing licenses, as part of its efforts to uphold public health and safety.
