A parliamentary debate on several regulations, including those under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act, is scheduled to take place today.
The session will begin at 9:30 AM, chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
Parliament sessions will continue this week until January 10th.
On January 9th, debates will cover provisions under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act, Special Goods and Services Tax Act, and the Welfare Benefits Act.
Friday, January 10th, will be dedicated to condolence motions for the late former Members of Parliament.
In related news, the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government has announced that the amended Provincial Council Election Bill will be presented in Parliament this week. Minister Professor Chandana Abeyratne confirmed that the Bill has already been gazetted.
