The police confiscated 20 T-56 firearms linked to organized criminals in 2024, according to Police Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga.
These weapons were recovered during a series of targeted raids conducted by the Police Special Task Force (STF) and other police units.
In addition to the T-56 rifles, authorities also seized 37 pistols and 36 revolvers during the same operations, reflecting their ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and ensure public safety.
