The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the publication of the Proceeds of Crime Draft Bill in the Government Gazette and its subsequent submission to Parliament for approval.
On December 9, 2024, the Cabinet directed the legal draftsman to prepare the Proceeds of Crime Bill. Following this, the Attorney General granted clearance for the draft prepared by the legal draftsman.
Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Justice and National Integration to publish the draft bill in the Government Gazette and then present it to Parliament for concurrence.
This marks a significant step in advancing legislative measures aimed at addressing the proceeds of crime in the country.
