Sri Lanka Explores Expanding Job Opportunities in Japan

A special discussion on enhancing employment opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankans was held in Colombo, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath.

The meeting included Kanamori Hitoshi, Chairman of IM Japan, along with other representatives. Minister Herath urged an increase in the recruitment of skilled Sri Lankan workers for Japan’s labor market.

He emphasized that training programs for Sri Lankan workers seeking employment in Japan and other countries would be streamlined with support from relevant ministries and vocational training institutions. The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment will also play a key role in these initiatives.

IM Japan’s Chairman noted that Japan offers numerous job opportunities in caregiving and construction sectors and assured that more positions would be made available for Sri Lankan workers.
