CAA Seizes Hoarded Rice Stock in Pettah Ahead of Ramadan

Officials from the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) have seized a stockpile of rice that was being hoarded for sale at inflated prices. The raid, conducted in a warehouse in Pettah, uncovered approximately 3,000 bags of rice, each weighing five kilograms.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the stock was intended for sale at higher prices during the upcoming Ramadan festival season. Authorities are continuing further inquiries into the matter.
