President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that Sri Lanka’s economy is projected to grow by approximately 5% in 2025, as outlined in the 2025 Budget Speech.

He emphasized that economic development should be inclusive, ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to participate and benefit equitably from growth. The President highlighted that economic expansion should not be measured solely by numbers but should serve as a means to uplift living standards across all social strata.

Furthermore, he reiterated the government’s commitment to long-term economic stability, stating that development efforts will be structured to enable Sri Lanka to resume debt repayments by 2028.
