UNP Deputy Leader MP Ravi Karunanayake stated that while power outages occurred on multiple occasions when the United National Party took over governance, these issues were effectively resolved under the party’s leadership.
Addressing the media, Karunanayake recalled that when the UNP, led by Ranil Wickremesinghe, assumed power in 2022, the country faced a 14-hour power outage. However, he emphasized that the situation was brought under control after Wickremesinghe took office.
He attributed the recent power outage to poor management within the power sector and stressed the importance of responsible action from all parties to address these challenges effectively.
