“Even When the UNP Came to Power, the Lights Were Cut Off – But We Provided Solutions – Ravi Karunanayake Says (Video)”

There were power crises on several occasions when the United National Party (UNP) took office, but the party managed to resolve these issues once in power, says UNP Deputy Leader and MP, Ravi Karunanayake.

Speaking to the media, the MP recalled a specific instance in 2022 when the UNP, led by Ranil Wickremesinghe, took over the government, and the country experienced a 14-hour power cut.

However, he emphasized that the issue was effectively addressed after Ranil Wickremesinghe assumed leadership.

MP Karunanayake attributed the current power outages to poor management in the power sector and stressed that all political parties must act responsibly to resolve these ongoing challenges.
