Former UNP Deputy Leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake has claimed that negotiations between the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) were derailed due to the interference of two UNP members.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake stated that these so-called strongmen within the party were responsible for obstructing efforts to facilitate successful discussions between the UNP and SJB.
He further alleged that UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has acted as a guarantor for these two individuals.
