Postal Trade Unions have announced a strike on March 18 in response to unresolved issues within the postal sector.
Manjula Jayasundara, Secretary of the Postal and Telecommunication Services Union, stated that all postal unions collectively decided to take action due to authorities’ failure to address long-standing concerns.
Key issues cited include challenges related to employee recruitment, appointments, promotions, and salary increments.
He added that while discussions were held with the Postmaster General, no positive measures were taken, prompting unions to proceed with the planned strike.
