The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has reported a significant decline in air quality in Colombo and Galle.
Current Air Quality Index (AQI) levels in these cities range between 40 and 60, falling below the threshold considered healthy for the average person.
The NBRO has advised special precautions for vulnerable groups, particularly the elderly and young children, who are more susceptible to the adverse effects of poor air quality.
