Ravi Karunanayake Urges UNP-SJB Agreement Ahead of Elections

Former UNP Deputy Leader, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has called for a swift agreement between the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) to prepare for the upcoming local government elections.

Speaking to the media, Karunanayake stressed the need for a united front, urging the majority willing to collaborate to form a common opposition through a structured program.

He also accused certain individuals within the UNP of sidelining long-time members, including himself, and warned that such internal divisions could weaken the party.

Karunanayake emphasized the importance of correcting these shortcomings and moving forward as a broad alliance to ensure the party’s survival and success in future elections.
