Female Grama Niladharis to Cease Night Duties Amid Security Concerns

The Sri Lanka Grama Niladhari Association has announced that all female Grama Niladharis will no longer be required to work night shifts, effective today (March 14), due to growing security concerns.

Colombo District President Shamali Watsala Kulatunga stated that, in addition to halting night duties, offices in unsafe or sparsely populated areas will be closed, with official work relocated to secure locations.

Meanwhile, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savitri Paulraj assured that the government would take necessary measures to ensure the safety of women working night shifts, responding to media queries in Kandy.
