“National Issues Require National Solutions – Former Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake”

Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party, MP Ravi Karunanayake, has condemned the recent sanctions imposed by Britain on three former Sri Lankan army commanders, calling it an unjust act.

Speaking to the media, Karunanayake emphasized that Sri Lankans—regardless of ethnicity—welcomed the end of the war and the return of peace. He argued that targeting specific individuals without conclusive evidence is unfair and that such international sanctions create unnecessary internal issues.

The MP asserted that Sri Lanka should address its own challenges domestically rather than allowing them to be handled on the global stage.
