Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin his official visit to Sri Lanka on April 4, prompting authorities to implement special traffic measures for security and smooth transit.
The Sri Lanka Police announced that on April 4, the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway and Baseline Road will be closed from 6 PM to 10 PM. Travelers heading to Katunayake International Airport are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
On April 5, roads around key locations, including Galle Face, Independence Square, and the Ape Gama premises in Battaramulla, will experience intermittent closures. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
Authorities have requested the public’s cooperation to ensure the safety and success of Prime Minister Modi’s visit.
