Thilaka Jayasundara, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries, has expressed a strong commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s industrial and economic ties with Russia. Speaking in Colombo on Wednesday (2), she emphasized the importance of global partnerships and the potential benefits of improved relations between Russia and the United States.
“We are eager to establish a strong and meaningful relationship with the Russian government and its industries,” Jayasundara stated, highlighting Sri Lanka’s interest in expanding trade and investment opportunities.
She also voiced hope for better diplomatic ties between Russia and the U.S., noting that such developments could have positive global impacts, including benefits for Sri Lanka.
“If Russia and America strengthen their relationship, it could open up significant opportunities for countries like Sri Lanka,” she said, adding that she remains optimistic about future collaborations with Russia.
