The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island this afternoon or evening (April 4).
In addition, morning showers are expected in the western, southern, and north-western coastal areas.
The department also warns of the possibility of heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm in certain areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and North-central provinces.
Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-central provinces during the morning hours.
The public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
