Several schools within Kandy city limits have been granted holidays from today until April 25 in view of the ongoing Siri Dalada Vandanawa.
The Central Provincial Education Office announced that if the exposition period is extended, the school closures will be prolonged accordingly.
The schools have been allocated to provide accommodation for police and tri-forces personnel deployed for security operations in Kandy. Additionally, they will also serve as lodging for disabled and elderly pilgrims attending the event, as needed.
