At this critical time, everyone must depoliticize and prioritize the country, says MP Ravi Karunanayake.
He made these remarks while participating in a floral tribute held in front of Lalith Athulathmudali’s statue in Colombo today, marking the 32nd anniversary of his death.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake emphasized that Sri Lanka needs leaders like Lalith Athulathmudali now more than ever. He urged politicians to follow the example set by Lalith, highlighting the importance of placing national interest above political agendas.
The MP further stated that, rather than focusing on elections, the primary concern should be the well-being of the country.
He also stressed that government officials must act with greater responsibility. If they fail to do so, the burden will ultimately fall on the government. It is the duty of the authorities, he added, to ease the living conditions of the people.
