Nearly 30,000 Indian Nationals Visit Sri Lanka in April

Nearly 30,000 Indian nationals arrived in Sri Lanka during the month of April, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

The SLTDA reported that a total of 144,320 foreign nationals visited Sri Lanka during the first 24 days of April. Of this number, 29,763 were from India, accounting for 20.6% of all arrivals. Additionally, 15,501 visitors came from the United Kingdom, 11,859 from Russia, 10,374 from Germany, and 9,410 from Australia.

With the latest figures for April, the total number of tourist arrivals in 2025 has risen to 866,596. Among them, 148,078 are from India, 105,472 from the UK, and 85,206 from Russia, according to the SLTDA.

In March, 229,298 foreign nationals visited Sri Lanka, marking a 9.62% increase compared to March 2024.
