President Anura Kumara Dissanayake Meets Vietnam’s Communist Party Chief During State Visit

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is currently on a three-day state visit to Vietnam, met today (04) with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Tô Lâm, in Hanoi.

The visit comes at the invitation of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. During his stay, President Dissanayake is also scheduled to participate in the 20th United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations.

The Sri Lankan delegation arrived in Vietnam earlier today and was warmly welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nong Thi Ha, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Trinh Thi Tam, and Sri Lankan Ambassador to Vietnam Perera Wewala Appuhamillage Udam Poshitha.

The visit encompasses key areas of political, economic, and cultural cooperation, and will include high-level meetings and the signing of several significant bilateral agreements.

President Dissanayake is also set to hold discussions with the President and Prime Minister of Vietnam as part of efforts to further strengthen ties between the two nations.
