Suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandhu Tennakoon has been summoned to appear before the Committee of Inquiry investigating allegations of gross abuse of power against him on May 19, 2025.
According to the Parliamentary Communications Department, the committee—appointed to investigate and report on the conduct of Tennakoon—has convened several times at the Parliament premises. This marks the first time Tennakoon has been officially notified to appear before the committee for future proceedings.
