The Department of Meteorology has warned that heavy showers exceeding 100 mm can be expected at some locations within the next 24 hours in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the districts of Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara.
Showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, and in the aforementioned districts.
Elsewhere, a few isolated showers may occur.
In addition, strong winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and across the Northern, North-Central, Southern, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee and Monaragala districts.
