According to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), a total of 91,785 tourists arrived in the country during the month of May.
India continued to dominate as the top source market, contributing 31,635 tourists, which accounts for 34.5% of total arrivals for the month. Other key source markets included:

Germany – 5,526 visitors

Bangladesh – 4,693 visitors
With the inclusion of May figures, the total number of tourist arrivals in 2025 has risen to 988,669.
Among these, 188,694 are from India, 109,840 from Russia, and 93,248 from the United Kingdom, the SLTDA further reported.
