Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Nalin Bandara has predicted that the current government will not remain in power beyond 24 May next year—exactly one year from today.
Addressing reporters on Friday (24), Bandara claimed that public dissatisfaction with the government is on the rise, extending even to government officials and intellectuals.
“We warned of the consequences of handing power to a group with no vision or experience. Now the country is facing those very consequences,” he said.
Describing the current administration as “the least progressive government in history,” Bandara accused it of failing to provide solutions to the pressing issues faced by the people. “Even those who voted for them are now expressing their disapproval,” he added.
He further asserted that the government’s downfall will be brought about by its own supporters. “Mark today’s date—24 May. The government will be sent home by this day next year, not by us, but by the very people who brought it to power,” he stated.
