SriLankan Airlines’ New A330 to Perform Low Fly-Past Over Colombo and Katunayake on June 4

SriLankan Airlines’ newest addition to its fleet, an Airbus A330-200, is scheduled to arrive in the country on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 — but not without offering aviation fans a spectacular aerial display.

As part of its delivery flight from Paris, the wide-body aircraft will perform a low fly-past at just 1,500 feet over Colombo’s coastline between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. The fly-past will be visible from the southern edge of Port City to Moratuwa, making it an unmissable moment for plane spotters.

The aircraft will then head towards Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for an additional fly-past over the airport before touching down.

This ceremonial flight marks the arrival of a key asset that will enhance SriLankan Airlines’ long-haul and short-haul connectivity, reinforcing its role as a bridge between Sri Lanka and the world.

The airline encourages aviation enthusiasts to enjoy the event from safe, designated viewing areas and avoid restricted zones.
