The Colombo Commercial High Court has directed that three companies allegedly linked to former Parliamentarian Daya Gamage be publicly auctioned to recover outstanding debts.
According to court officials, the auction is scheduled to take place on July 2 at 10 a.m., under the supervision of the Registrar and Deputy Fiscal of the Colombo Commercial High Court.
The decision stems from a legal action initiated by People’s Leasing & Finance PLC to recover Rs. 104,229,342. The total amount initially owed was Rs. 108,309,342, of which approximately Rs. 4.08 million has been repaid by the respondents. As per the judgment delivered on November 10, 2022, the auction will proceed to recover the remaining balance.
The companies listed for auction include Daya Group Ltd., Daya Group of Companies (Pvt) Ltd., and Olympus Construction (Pvt) Ltd.
