The Ministry of Energy has urged the public not to be misled by false reports circulating about an imminent fuel shortage in Sri Lanka.
In an official statement, the Ministry clarified that various misleading claims—particularly on social media—suggesting a possible disruption in fuel supply due to the ongoing military situation in the Middle East are entirely unfounded.
The Ministry assured that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) currently holds sufficient fuel stocks to meet the country’s needs for the next two months.
Furthermore, it emphasized that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the uninterrupted arrival of pre-ordered fuel shipments, despite regional geopolitical developments.
Reiterating its commitment to maintaining a stable fuel supply, the Ministry appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading or reacting to unverified information.
