The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has announced an extension of visa validity for Sri Lankan nationals who were unable to return to Israel due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The Embassy stated that the new visa validity deadline has been extended until July 31, 2025, providing affected individuals with additional time to arrange their return.
Ambassador Nimal Bandara assured that once commercial flights to Israel resume, Sri Lankan nationals currently in Sri Lanka will be able to return without facing further administrative obstacles.
According to embassy data, 219 Sri Lankan citizens currently on vacation in Sri Lanka are expected to return to Israel when the security situation stabilizes.
Meanwhile, in a coordinated evacuation effort with the Government of India, 17 Sri Lankans are scheduled to travel from Amman to New Delhi tomorrow (25) under a free air travel initiative.
In addition, the embassy confirmed that 20 individuals have registered to travel to Sri Lanka via Egypt in the coming days, with five already having completed the journey.
The embassy continues to facilitate safe travel options for Sri Lankans affected by the regional crisis.
