Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP) and Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has stressed the importance of India’s trade policy in shaping successful international trade relations.
In an interview with ceylonwire.lk, Karunanayake noted that India has effectively addressed trade challenges by engaging in bilateral negotiations with key global partners.
He pointed out that India is currently in discussions with the United States over tariff-related concerns and is also nearing the finalization of a new trade agreement with the United Kingdom.
“Through such strategic negotiations, India is clearly progressing on a path of economic success,” he said.
Karunanayake further emphasized that Sri Lanka, as a close neighbor, can benefit from India’s support and experience in navigating global trade dynamics.
