The Department of Meteorology forecasts intermittent showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. The North-Western Province is also expected to experience several spells of rain, while isolated showers are likely in parts of the Northern Province.
In addition, fairly strong winds of up to 50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, and across the Northern and North-Central Provinces, including the districts of Puttalam, Trincomalee, and Hambantota.
The Met Department advises the public to take necessary precautions against potential hazards such as temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
