The Department of Meteorology has forecast several spells of light showers today across the Western, North-Western, and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the districts of Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara.
In addition, showers or thundershowers are likely to develop in isolated locations within the Uva Province, and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts, particularly after 2.00 p.m.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution and take necessary safety measures to mitigate potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
