Sri Lanka’s export sector has shown steady and commendable growth during the first seven months of 2025, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).
From January to July, total export earnings reached USD 9,992.53 million, reflecting a 7.79% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
In July alone, earnings from goods and services amounted to USD 1,641.11 million, recording a 12.68% year-on-year increase.
EDB Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe said the positive performance highlights the success of strategic initiatives to strengthen the export sector, expand access to international markets, and enhance Sri Lanka’s global competitiveness.
