President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that the government expects to provide the remaining salary increases for public sector employees in January 2026.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Jaffna Regional Office of the Department of Immigration and Emigration at the Jaffna District Secretariat, the President noted that the initial increase in the basic salary had already been provided in April this year.
“We need a strong public sector to develop the country. Every developed nation has a strong public sector. We are also building one,” he said.
