CEB Proposes 6.8% Electricity Tariff Hike for Final Quarter of 2025

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed a 6.8% increase in electricity tariffs for the final quarter of 2025, according to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).

In response, the PUCSL announced that it will seek public opinion on the proposed amendments through both written submissions and verbal consultations.

To gather verbal feedback, the PUCSL will conduct nine public consultation sessions, covering all nine provinces, beginning on September 18, 2025.

Meanwhile, written comments and suggestions on the proposed third electricity tariff revision for 2025 can be submitted to the Commission on or before October 7, 2025 through the following channels:
