Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP), MP Ravi Karunanayake, has stressed the importance of representing Sri Lanka at every international platform.
Speaking to the media on Sri Lanka’s absence from the recent summit in China, Karunanayake said that making use of such opportunities helps position the country as an integral part of the global community.
He emphasized that what Sri Lanka needs today is to build friendships without bias, citing Dubai, Singapore, and Malaysia as examples of nations that have successfully followed this approach.
Karunanayake added that the true measure of a country is not its size but its ability to safeguard its independence while engaging constructively with the world.
